Voici ce qu'en disait Inayat Ali, au retour de sa première mission de reconnaissance : " Population in these villages live in the small room mostly mud houses constructed by cutting into mountain slops which have been totally flattened by the recent earthquake that hit the northern areas of Pakistan. Houses are scattered around the mountain slops for miles with no road accesses, it takes hours climbing hundreds of meters to reach households there. The situation of small mountain villages in Kohistan region is really miserable as due to inaccessibilité these villages are mostly overlooked by relief agencies that are focusing the main settlements where larger population lives in cluster and supplies are easier. "

Inayat Ali
Inayat Ali, originaire de Shimshal, il vit à Islamabad. Il présente son équipe : "We are a team of 7 people, 4 members from Shimshal and 3 locals from Alai, Besham town and Shangla. : I would like to mention here that we are not a registered NGO but just a group of friends who voluntarily helped out during the rescue efforts in Margalla Towers Islamabad. Afterward when we visited Balakot with FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance as volunteers to provide the relief goods and sew the widespread destruction as well as the challenges of rescue and relief efforts there we decided to continue our effort with what ever way possible. Our supply base is in Besham Town."

Distribution of supplies
Target population :
The relief food supplies were distributed to 380 families in Molesar, Banju, and Lahore, villages of the Shangla District NWFP Pakistan. These supplies were donated by Solidarite Alpes Cachemire and distributed by the volunteers of Mountain Relief and Reconstruction (MRR) on January 14~22, 2006.
Items of relief supplies :
Food item of the following contents were distributed to each household as one month supplies.
Wheat floor : 20 kg
Rice : 10 kg
Dall : 5 kg
Tea : 1 kg
Sugar : 5 kg
Cooking Oil : 5 kg
Match Box : 1 pack
Total Weight (per package) : 47 kg
Purchasing/Packing/packaging :
All the supplies are being purchased in Rawalpindi as prices in Rawalpindi are lower compare to Islamabad. The prices are properly bargained with the shopkeepers explaining to them that the supplies are meant for the earthquake victims. The shopkeepers did cooperated and provided better rates for supplies.
After purchasing the above mentioned supplies from Rawalpindi, they were packed for each household according to the specified weight and item. These packaging helped in ensuring to make the distribution process easier, organize and more transparent.
Transportation :
Once the packing was completed, the foodstuffs were loaded into two trucks and the convoy left for Besham on 16 January, three volunteers accompanied the trucks.
The supplies were scheduled to reach Besham city on January 17th, but due to heavy rains and snowfall the Karakarum Highway was blocked near Thakot, the trucks had to wait for two days until the road was opened on January 19.
